My Objective
My primary goal is to create a positive environment in which students may feel secure, and develop into professional quality dancers that are both physically and mentally healthy.
The secondary goal is to train dancers who possess a greater understanding of ballet technique and how to apply it individually. Technique is not meant to be a constraint on one’s body no matter what the body type, it is a means by which to set the movement, and your spirit free.

Biography
From small beginnings at the Yamaha Music School on Folsom Blvd. in Sacramento, Ms. Duclos went on to study with Marguerite Phares until her family packed up and moved to Southern California. Once settled in San Diego County, she studied at the American Ballet School with Linda Yourth (New York City Ballet) until the opening of North Coast Ballet where she received the bulk of her professional quality training. While dancing at North Coast Ballet she had the privilege of studying under Clarissa Boeriu (Romanian State Theatre of Opera and Ballet), Larry Eddington (New York Metropolitan Opera Ballet), Robin Sherertz Morgan (New York City Ballet), and modern dance training from Ellen Segal (Martha Graham Dance Company). Ms. Boeriu and Mr. Eddington deeply impacted her training and will always be held with the greatest respect and fondest memories.
Ms. Duclos then went on to become a principle dancer with Pacific Stars Ballet which was later renamed Pacific Repertory Ballet, dancing such roles as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, *Carmen, and *Daphnis in Daphnis and Chloe, as well as having variations created upon her (*choreography by Barbara Gibson).
A family life and teaching career then beckoned. Ms. Duclos taught at Danceworks Academie and Ballet Theatre for seven years prior to opening To The Pointe on September 1, 2002. |
